The following is a chart of my projection of household earnings for the three largest counties in the Jackson, MS Metropolitan Statistical Area: Hinds County, Rankin County, and Madison County. If current trends continue (from 2000 to 2013), total household earnings in Madison County will equal those of Hinds County in 2018. That’s especially significant when you consider the fact that Madison County has only about 39% the population of Hinds County. Rankin County won’t be far behind, either. They should catch Hinds County around 2021 — just six years from now.
